GOOD GIFTS OF GOD’S LOVE
God expresses His Fatherly love in the things He gives His children, when He gives it and how. The evidence of Scriptures is that He gives good gifts: “If your child asks you for bread, would any of you give him a stone? Or if your child asks for a fish, would you give him a snake? Even though you’re evil, you know how to give good gifts to your children. So how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him? ” (Matthew 7:9–11, GW) Do you consider the Lord God to be your Father in heaven? If so, let me assure you with these few words that you can wholly rely on His word and truly expect this promise in our text to be your reality, that your gracious Father in heaven is righteous and will “give good things to those who ask Him”.
