NEVER FORSAKEN

“Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.” Psalm 9:10.

This scripture focuses our minds on one of the unshakable pillars our faith which is that the God we serve, whose personal name Jehovah (LORD) reminds us that He is a covenant-making and covenant-keeping God, is our creator who never forsakes those who put their trust in Him.

Jehovah will never turn His back on those who trust in His name; they are assured of His abiding presence. This truth is repeated all over the scriptures and affirmed by those who have walked intimately with Him. God’s truth has no time limit on it: It was true for David; it was true for Joshua (Joshua 1:5); it was true also for the writer of the book of Hebrew (Hebrews 13:5); and it is still true for you and I today!

The phrase “Those who know your name” is by no means all-encompassing. This “knowledge” does not arise from a cursory acquaintance with the Lord but from an intimate experiential interaction. It is to those who are so intimately acquainted that the LORD says, “I will never forsake”.

Walk closely with the Lord, love Him and; lean not to your own understanding. Put your trust in the Lord and you will never bow your head in shame. He will rescue you and protect you. The Lord has promised never to relax His hold on anyone who knows him.
