ON A DIVINE MISSION – Part 2

(…continued from Part 1)
Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” (John 20:21, NLT)
Apostle Paul, did the only thing a Christian ought to do: He lived a “sent life”. Paul ran the race that God set before him faithfully. He fought the fight of faith, continually pressing forward toward the mark. He did not consider anything more important than to know Christ who sent him and to serve Him faithfully (Phil 3:7-8). In the end, Paul could say with confidence:
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing.” (2 Timothy 4:7–8, NLT)
Apostle Paul, like our Lord Jesus, was able to speak with such boldness because he allowed his life to be shaped by his faithfulness to Christ who sent him.

You have been sent to serve a heavenly purpose! Christ has sent you, Christian, to be the light and the salt of the world modelling a manner of life that glorifies God (Matt 5:13-16), to be His ambassador spreading the good news of God’s love and reconciliation (2 Cor 5:20), to be God’s workmanship and doing good works for which we were created in Christ (Eph 2:10). The ramification of our “sending” is all-encompassing and touches upon every facet of life.

You have a divine purpose in Christ. Don’t waste time looking to other things to make you feel complete or accomplished. Being faithful to Christ who sent you and blessed you with His peace is a full and joyful life.

Commit yourself to knowing what it means to be sent by Christ and understanding the implications of living as one who has been sent and empowered by Christ to fulfil divine purpose. “Carry your cross” as Jesus said, and follow Him who sent you!

It will cost you something to live a "sent life", but such a price will be nothing compared to the glorious joy and satisfaction of being able to confidently, and without regrets, say, “I have finished my course. I have lived the life that Christ paid for with His blood and sent me to live by His grace"!
