I AM WONDERFULLY MADE

[O Lord], “I praise you because you made me in an AMAZING and WONDERFUL way. What you have done is wonderful. I KNOW THIS VERY WELL.” (Psalm 139:14)

God has “made you in an amazing and wonderful way…” It is a tragedy though that not many people believe this about themselves. Worse still is that there are believers who would hear a comment like “You are amazing” or “You are wonderful” and never attribute such quality it to themselves, rather they think of others people whom they believe such statement would fit better.

Failing to comprehend the will of God, there are people who will refuse to be convinced that God intended them to be uniquely special and has actually made them so. The world has a standard of beauty and perfection that is not more than skin-deep. Those who have subscribed to these standards have often been left with a tainted self-perception leading to feelings of inadequacy and serious self-esteem issues. But the Word of God must be our final authority.

The truth is that God created each one of us to be uniquely amazing and wonderful, capable of great accomplishments no matter what limitations we may have or think we have.

You can never realize your potential life until you know and acknowledge that there is something unique about you. Start by appreciating how wonderfully complex God has made you. Start today; see yourself in a new light - as God sees you!

God created you to be a “unique individual” not a “copy of another person”. Discover who you are starting with perceiving yourself as God sees you rather than through the subjective eyes of other people. Only then can you begin to praise Him and not be envious of others or live in regret of all the things you think you don’t have.

The psalmist sang God’s praise because upon examining his own existence, he saw himself as the wonderful creation of God that he really is. And in declaring “I know this very well”, he acknowledged that the only thing that counts is what God thinks about him.

Just a thought, child of God: Do you know that God made you a uniquely “amazing and wonderful” person? Do you know why God is so mindful of you, why He cares? What’s so special about you? The psalmist asked these questions and he answered them on the basis of the truth of God’s Word just as we should, not on the basis of any man’s opinions.

God wants you to have a positive attitude about yourself and to build up your self-esteem. He made you in His image and after His own likeness (Genesis 1:26).

It’s okay to acknowledge and affirm what the word says about you. It’s alright to say, “God loves me, I am wonderfully made and I know it very well!” Go ahead and praise Him for it and, while you are at it, receive grace to fulfil your potential in life.

Hallelujah!
